Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit (ASRU) is a regional
spinal injury service which provides comprehensive care for
people with a spinal cord injury from the central north
island to the far north.
Rehabilitation Unit is part of Counties Manukau District Health
Board and is located at 30 Bairds Road in South Auckland in close
proximity to Middlemore Hospital.
The service is a
20 bed inpatient unit that is dedicated to short term rehabilitation
for patients of all ages who have sustained a spinal cord injury
with a neurological deficit. For

service offers regular lifelong follow-up for clients once they have
been discharged from our inpatient service. Patients are
either assessed at the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit or at the
Outreach Clinics in their local regions.
